Spring 2024-25 Team EVALUATIONS

We're always eager to welcome new athletes and families to the Team Esface community. While some of our teams have limited availability, we offer multiple pathways to get involved with our academy. If you're interested in learning about Team Esface and our evaluation process, please book a call below!

OUR NEW PRACTICE EVALUATION

For Spring 2025, we've implemented a more integrated evaluation approach. Instead of traditional standalone evaluations, we invite prospective athletes to participate in an actual team practice. This allows coaches to assess players in a real team environment and helps athletes get a genuine feel for our coaching style and program culture.

OPPORTUNITIES BEYOND REGULAR TEAMS

Reserve Player Status: Join practices and potentially fill in for games when regular team members are unavailable

  • Skills Training Programs: Access to specialized training like our Anti-Softness Scoring & Defensive Clinic

  • Camps & Clinics: Priority registration for upcoming seasonal camps

  • Mental Training: Introduction to our mental performance program with Graham Betchart

  • Future Team Placement: Position your athlete for priority consideration in upcoming seasons

  • Alternative Team Options: Potential placement in age-adjacent teams where appropriate

Even if your preferred program is currently full, the evaluation process allows our coaches to assess your athlete's skills and find the best path for their development within our academy ecosystem.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Pre-Evaluation Process:

  1. Screening Call: Schedule a call with our team to discuss your athlete's experience and your family's goals

  2. Program Recommendation: We'll recommend appropriate programs based on availability and fit

  3. Practice Registration: If there's mutual interest, we'll invite your athlete to attend a team practice

During Practice:

  • Your athlete will participate in a regular team practice session

  • They'll experience our standard drills and training approach

  • Coaches will assess skills through integrated activities

  • We'll include at least 10-15 minutes of live play for assessment

Post-Practice Assessment:

  • Our coaching staff will review your athlete's performance

  • We'll evaluate skill level relative to the current team

  • We'll consider team fit and mentality

  • You'll receive results within 2 BUSINESS DAYS

Why Join the esface family?

I’m really honored to be a part of Esface...The trust that I have for the work that you all are doing in terms of impacting kids through the game of basketball, I’m very confident in what you all do.
— Jeremy Lin, NBA Champion
I’m a big believer in Esface Club Basketball. I consider it one of the top basketball training programs in California. ...Their preparation for high school basketball is unequaled. The results speak for themselves...in 2016 three recent Esface grads helped lead my Serra High School basketball team to our school’s first ever State Championship.
